personality
LIKES: Singing, fighting, flowers,
DISLIKES: Rude people, death, bullies, peace and quiet.
DREAMS: To fall in love and raise a family, to make Athena proud of her
FEARS: Failing her mother, dying all alone, spiders, and losing friends.
First and foremost, Lydia is a daughter of Athena. She's smart, witty, and can hold her own in a fight. Most of the time she's friendly, affectionate and a loudmouth. She is the kind of person who doesn't like peace and quiet, and she does her best to break awkward silences. She's also brutally honest, and will tell someone right away if she doesn't like them. If she's in a bad mood, she will be cold, rude and just downright mean. She will jump to conclusions, judge people too quickly and is most likely to get in a fight with a stranger. Just because they bug someone she cares about, or hurts them. For a daughter of the wisdom Goddess, she can be pretty foolish. Lydia is not without flaws.
When she isn't mean, she can be the sweetest thing on the planet. She is the kind of girl who likes cuddling, holding hands and kisses on the cheek. She is also a huge flirt, and will hit on both guys or girls- it really doesn't matter to her. Everyone is pretty, and everyone must be hit on. Lydia can also be very mother-like sometimes, protecting those who are younger than her. Or even someone the same age as her, like Lily, her best friend. When she believes someone she cares about is in trouble, she will go into "mom mode". In mom mode, she's determined to get to her baby. Lydia can either be a mommy bear, or a mommy cat. Whichever the situation calls for. If you are her baby, she will protect you. No ifs, ands or buts. Anyone who is important to her is automatically put on a pedestal. She will think about them first, and not worry about herself. Unfortunately, this has landed her in a few bad spots.
When it comes to love, Lydia wants it very badly. She isn't like Athena, who scorns the company of lovers. She wants to love and be loved, even though she's so young. She knows that it might take a while, given the war that's going on. If anything she knows she might not have much time to be happy, and as a result she might rush into a relationship. Just to be happy for a while in case she dies someday. She's sort of confused about the whole subject, and it's unknown whether or not she can actually commit to a relationship. Perhaps her being a daughter of Athena has something to do with it. Sometimes she does find herself wanting real, true love. Just like in the storybooks. Other times she shuns the very idea. Because why on earth would she want to be heartbroken? Give her heart away for just a few days, or few weeks of happiness?

background
Kim Hyung was a professor in Seoul, never teaching the same subject. He was always full of knowledge, and kept seeking it. He'd never seen himself settling down, falling in love and raising a family. His only love had always been knowledge, until he met her. One of his students, not too much younger than he was. She was smart, beautiful and witty and caught him completely off guard. In some ways, he became more of the student than the teacher. Her name was Ivy, and she had the most beautiful blonde hair and brown eyes. For the first time in his life, he considered settling down. Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be. Ivy was gone one day, and he believed that her disappearance was the end of it.
Until a cradle was delivered to his door. In it was a beautiful, giggling baby girl. It became apparent that this was his child, and Ivy had not been a regular young woman. He gave the baby the name Lydia, a Greek name in honor of her mother. In her was the blood of a Goddess, and this would put her in danger. She grew up a fairly happy child, always learning new things. Soaking up knowledge just like her father had done. She was outgoing and energetic, and had a sweet singing voice. Sadly she couldn't stay a kid forever. Being a demigod meant monsters..monsters that wanted to kill her. Lydia remained blissfully ignorant until her father told her what she was. Any dreams she had up until that point were crushed. Most demigods didn't live long..who's to say she wouldn't be cornered in a dark alley someday?
Camp Half-blood was a godsend..literally. She could be with kids like her, learn how to fight..go on quests if allowed and make a name for herself. She understood why she could never stand still. It was part of her instincts to fight..it was in her veins. It wasn't something you fought. At first, she was the odd one out. She spoke Korean, and only a little bit of English. A daughter of Demeter, Lily Rose helped her learn more English. When Athena claimed her for everyone to see, Lydia was ecstatic. She was determined to be a good daughter, or as good as she could've been when you've never met your mother. Even though she wasn't in any of the prophecies or the center of attention, she was content to do her best. Training was hard work but hey, she had friends. Not to mention a whole bunch of siblings, just like she'd always wanted.
When the war came, of course she fought. Blood, sweat, tears..countless hours spent fighting. No matter how exhausted she got. It was in her blood, for god's sake. Lydia followed their leader dutifully into battle, and put her all into fighting. She lost track of how many people were hurt. How much blood had been spilled, and for what? It was a relief when it all ended, but it left Camp Half-blood damaged, almost beyond repair. When a new threat arose, they made an alliance with the Romans. Lydia wasn't sure what she thought about it, but she knew working together would be better than fighting again. Now she is only eighteen, an adult but still a child at heart.. All of her dreams are safely tucked away safely, until she can bring them out again. Not during a war.

POWERS & ABILITIES
As a daughter of Athena, Lydia is a good fighter. She can come up with exceptional battle strategies, and can stay under control in a stressful situation. Lydia can hold her own in a fight, and is known to stand her ground. She isn't the best fighter in the whole entire camp, but she is a worthy opponent. She was given the gift of Telumkinesis, courtesy of her mother. But sometimes her clumsiness can get in the way, and there are enemies that she can't beat. Other skills include dressing a wound, and talking someone's head off. Besides her abilities on the battlefield, Lydia has a beautiful singing voice. One that she usually keeps under wraps, mostly because of who her mother is. She can also speak three languages- Greek, English, and Korean.
